Stepping Out on Faith: Having a Hopeful Heart

As we go into a new year, it is my prayer that you have hope in your heart – the hope of a bright future, hope in knowing that all things are possible, and stepping out on faith and going after your dreams!

I recently stepped out on faith and trusted God to lead me in my writing. For years, I reviewed Christian fiction and nonfiction books, never thinking I would actually be an author myself. However, about six years or so ago, God gave me a story to tell. It was a story about family, friends, and the nostalgic feeling of writing in your journal or diary about all things close to your heart. So, I started writing, stopping, and restarting over time. However, I finally completed the book.

You would think now that I finished the book, I would feel relief; however, the nerves of being a first-time author are kind of overwhelming. I never thought in a million years that I would be a self-published author! However, here I am, Litany Hope Lineberry, an inspirational/Christian author. Just saying it out loud makes me feel overjoyed and blessed at the same time. I stepped out on faith, I trusted God to order my steps, and here I am.

It is my heartfelt hope that in 2023 you stop putting off that “project” you have been working on and go full speed ahead, knowing God has your back. It will take a lot of prayer and faith, but I believe in you!

The name of the book that God gave me is The Heart’s Hope Diary: Book 1 – Sarah Ann. It is about a young woman navigating life with a Christian frame of mind. She documents her journey in her diary. It is loosely based on Sarah and Abraham but from a modern point of view. I hope you enjoy her story!

Below is an excerpt from Entry 0:

Entry 0 (Prologue) December 25

 Dear Diary,

This is our first time meeting! My boyfriend of two years, Abraham Jenkins, or Abe for short, gave you to me for Christmas to write down matters of the heart. I love you already with your pink cover and decorated pages. I know I will fill you up, and if I cannot fill all your pages, I will pass it down to my daughter when I have one. So let me tell you a little bit about me. I am 23 years old, and I have a degree in early childhood education. I am first and foremost a Christian and a woman after God’s own heart.

I am the youngest of four children. My sisters – Esther Sue, Ruthie Mae, and Naomi Rae – are the greatest sisters a girl could have. If I ever get married, they will be my bridesmaids, with my older sister Naomi being my Matron of Honor since she is the only one of us who is married. Esther Sue and Ruthie Mae both have hearts of gold! Naomi is the mother to us all I guess because she is 36 years old, married, and has not one but two kids. Oh, how I love my nephews!

Abe, the love of my life (besides God of course!), is so genuine and considerate. He bought my sisters journals as well! He has something special planned just for me later tonight to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. I will add more later!
