Have you ever wanted to speak from the heart but felt your words would not matter?
I have felt that way since I was a little girl, never truly believing my words mattered. So, I observed, assessed, and then chose whether to speak or not. However, over the years, I found a new way to express myself by putting pen to paper and writing out matters of my heart in the form of poetry.
Over the years, everyone whom I have shared my poetry with has said I should publish them.
However, I was always wary because my poetry was personal, from the heart. Most of my poetry deals with real-life moments, both good and bad. My poems can be classified as inspirational and spiritual.
After much prayer, I decided to compile most of my poems and create a Poetry book. It is my heartfelt prayer that you feel inspired and hopeful and know your voice matters when you read my poetry book entitled From the Heart: A Collection of Spiritual Poems!
Here is an excerpt from my poetry book:
Pretty Am I
Pretty am I through the blood of Jesus made in my father’s own image
Pretty am I that I can seek God’s face by just looking in the mirror
Pretty am I by his stripes, when I get hurt, I will be healed
Pretty are you that no matter what man says, to God you are BEAUTIFUL
Pretty are you that through Christ all things are possible, you just have to trust in him
Pretty are you that you trust in the Lord because you know without him you are nothing
PRETTY ARE WE that no devil in hell can keep us away from being wrapped in God’s blanket of LOVE
PRETTY AM I
